Built in 1989, The Coach House is registered with the Care Quality Commission and offers a very high quality of care in elegant and spacious rooms each designed to offer apartment style accommodation with en-suite facilities and kitchenettes that could preserve the level of independence enjoyed by the client prior to admission.
Prestwood Coach House stands within the beautiful wooded Prestwood Estate.
It is ideal for those clients who seek to maintain a level of independence and activity they enjoyed in their own homes, but with the reassurance of 24-hour nursing care in the home and the companionship of other residents. It is also suitable for clients who wish to make a gradual transition from hospital to home.
Prestwood Coach House aims to provide high standard accommodation and both nursing and residential care in 27 apartment-style rooms. 18 of these are primarily for single occupancy, with 9 larger rooms being able to accommodate married couples or partners, or individuals who wish to share a room by choice. All rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, remote colour TV and kitchenette, which includes a fridge, electric kettle and toaster etc. Each room has the facility for a private telephone line. All en-suite bathrooms have handrails and a safety bath. While residents will find the rooms tastefully furnished, they are welcome to bring smaller items of their own furniture.
Each floor of the home has an assisted bathroom; all of which are adapted for disabled use.
Anyone over the age of 65 years, including married couples or partners, who because of physical incapacities require help with daily living, is entitled to apply for a place at Prestwood Coach House. Whilst we do have some younger clients, most are in their 80s, some in their 90s and we have a number of centenarians.
Rooms with a view
In addition to the generously sized rooms, there are communal areas for activities and relaxation. Many clients enjoy the peace and quiet of The Conservatory to read or watch the garden change through the seasons. The Courtyard Room is a lively meeting place for friends and visitors, while the comfortable lounge offers views over the fields and grazing ponies. Outside, the courtyard and terrace offer a delightful setting.
