Food and Dining

Quality and variety of food is top of everyone’s list of requirements when considering nursing or residential care. Our care homes have menus which offer tasty, nutritious food including old favourites and new temptations.

Prestwood House and Prestwood Coach House both continue to hold a “Very Good” Food Hygiene rating of 5 out of 5. Our Head Chef and her team of seven comply with regulations to maintain high standards of hygiene and good practice and to present a wide choice of healthy, nutritious food.

Set Menu

Every day our Head Chef and the team offer a variety of breakfast options whether your enjoy a full English or prefer the continental style, all served with fruit juice, tea or coffee.  

A hearty meat or fish based lunch is offered, served with potatoes and fresh vegetables or salad.  Traditional puddings are there to top off the meal – favourites such as apple pie and ice cream, treacle sponge and custard, creamy rice pudding or pineapple upside down cake to name just a few.  Lighter meals and puddings and vegetarian options are always available.

Supper is a lighter affair offering chef’s homemade soup of the day, a selection of sandwiches and hot bites. 

Birthdays are usually a day of celebration and our team take pleasure in presenting clients with a cake on their special day.

Meals are served in the dining room or may be taken in one of the lounges or sitting rooms or in clients’ own rooms depending upon preference.
